Energy use of biomass

The aim of this bachelor thesis is the research of different types of biomass, description of the various types of methods and technologies for energy usage of biomass and the mapping of large power plant units in the Czech Republic. The first part of this thesis deals with the definition of biomass, its distribution and the description of basic essential attributes describing its composition. The downstream part of this work is focused on the technologies of gaining energy out of biomass or its possible conversion into other products depending on the currently discussed type of technology. The last part deals with energy balances of biomass in the Czech Republic and focuses on individual companies who use biomass as an energy source, by applying one of the methods mentioned in the previous part.

The Analysis of CSR in a particular company

This thesis deals with Corporate Social Responsibility. In the theoretical part the basic concepts of Corporate Social Responsibility are determined and introduced initiatives dealing with CSR at national, European and global level. The definition of methods for measuring CSR, communication, implementation and benefits of CSR for the company are also included in this part. The practical part is focused on the company Skupina ČEZ. There is company presentation, particular CSR activities and research. The aim of the work is to explore CSR activities of this company and propose recommendations how to develop these activities. The partial objectives are to determine how the graduates perceive the Company Skupina ČEZ and how they are informed about CSR strategy and approach of this Company to behave responsibly.

Analysis of the CSR strategy in a particular firm

This thesis deals with Corporate Social Responsibility. The theoretical part focuses on familiarization with the concept of CSR and on approach to this concept at global, European and national - Czech - level. Presentation of particular CSR activities, their implementation in the company and the subsequent measurement and reporting are also included in this part. The practical part is orientated on the company Skupina CEZ. There is company's profile, analysis of the CSR strategy and research. The research objective is to determine how the Czech public is informed about the CSR activities of Skupina CEZ.

Legal aspects of the impact of internal audit and its role in the group CEZ

The aim of this Master's thesis is to evaluate the model of internal audit in CEZ Group primarily in terms of compliance with applicable laws and the International Professional Practices Framework of Internal Auditing. The research was conducted by comparing the internal regulations and other CEZ Group's documents with current legislation and international Standards of internal audit. As expected, the main criteria are in accordance with current legislation. The main contribution of this model is cost-effective executing of internal audit and sharing the best practice across the CEZ Group. I think, main disadvantages are: dependence on the Board and CEO of CEZ, insufficient use of experts outside the CEZ Group, excluding profit from the price calculation of internal audit and certain conditions for the provision of internal audit services in subsidiaries.

Energy management in office buildings

The aim of this bachelor thesis is to provide the reader with the comprehensive overview of the Energy Management. Nowadays, most companies are focusing on costs types of processes. It is important to stop all uneconomical utilization of sources. The energy management is important way of saving funds. The project management know-how and acquired knowledge were used in this bachelor thesis for resolution of problem with wastage of energy (especially electricity) in office buildings. It has been found that it is important to support energy management in the company. In this thesis, it is shown how to implement system of energy management in concrete conditions of company. The proposal was created for project "Unit process of energy management in ČEZ Group". Aims of project are to optimize indirect costs in building administration and to establish process based integrated system of energy management.
